Convocation Ceremony

It's actually my first real convocation ceremony that I had on June 25th. I'm usually not the type of person who goes to such big events for celebrations but after my first conference meeting, I had a change of mind and decided to go.

The convocation ceremony was pretty much what I expected; with the robes, big screens, and speeches.. though minus the hats (which I didn't mind)..it was a great experience. Very exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time. Great and exciting in the sense I can see some of my friends and professors again and have a good good chat! While nerve-wrecking in the sense of all the energy and being on stage, haha ^^;

Movie Night

Tuesday evening was a fun night with one of my best friends, Sandy~ It would have been more fun with Jess.. but she's so far in Australia (miss you so much!! ;-;).

Watched:
How To Train Your Dragon 2 -- We arrived relatively close to movie time and it was packed!!! So many people.. especially because it's summer and Tuesday night special. However, we managed to have a good seat not too close to the screen.
It was so very good.. I really want the concept art books for both movies. The art work is so pretty~

After watching HTTYD 2, we had some time to get bubble tea from Lambie's.. smuggled in our drinks and got some good seats for Maleficent [3D]. The story plot was conceptually different but interesting. It gave a new interpretation to Maleficent's character to the usual Sleeping Beauty story.

Fundraiser: NTCR!

I have recently found out that THIS YEAR is the North Toronto Cat Rescue (NTCR) shelter's final year before they are booted off the land for a new shopping mall!! They are in dire need of support and help.

My goal is to help support their cause through donation from working part-time jobs and doing commissions on the side. My progress so far while working with Vector is a slow hard climb; mainly because of my personal fears restricting my success as well as the competition and stress to race against time.. It is a growing process but time is very limited.

I am personally holding a fundraiser to help the NTCR with cheap $10 commissions:

Energy Drain..

It's been almost a week since I started with my new job and I have to say that it's very very different. However, the learning experience is great! I can see my growth from work. Personally, I usually don't talk too much. And when I do talk A LOT, it's mainly to my two childhood best friends (and 彼氏 ♥). My comfort bubble is ranged due to my semi-introverted personality. It's calming in quiet places with usually with only 2-3 people. So being in large groups of people for too long really drains my energy.. especially if all of them are "extra" enthusiastic. This usually leads to stress and exhaustion.

Double Whammy!

Monday morning was an exciting day.. a nervous and happy day. I had two good interviews that day. One I particularly favor and really hope to get. And as for my second interview, it was not particularly on the top of my "want to do" career list. However, it's always a great learning experience, have fun, and make new friends.

All Fails When...

You have a killer migraine that renders you completely powerless to even sit up without feeling nauseous. I really really hate that.. even more so when I was about to start working! It was one of my bad ones yesterday where the throbbing was so intense my eyes involuntarily tear up, my body temperature feels warmer than normal (yet it is) and the painkillers don't work. Everything becomes sensitive.. the light.. the sound.. and the no-way-to-get-comfortable-on-your-pillow feeling..

Hello followers and readers~!! I tried another red polish but with something a little different than my usual comfort. Those who prefer confetti in their polish would like this one. The deep red compliments with the shiny confetti pieces.

Game Of Thrones

Although I have not read the books for Game of Thrones, but I've been seeing commentary on how the casting changed for certain characters. I don't know whether the change was for the better of the series or not. However, I find the drama series very good and interesting~ considering how many times I've re-watched it, haha!!

I am very excited for the rest of the series to reveal itself! Season 4 has surely got be on my toes and rooting for a few characters. Which character(s) are you rooting for? :D

New Anime!!

It's been awhile since I've updated on Anime~ but I have good news to those who've been watching Fairy Tail! THEY ARE CONTINUING WITH SEASON 2 YAYYYYY!!! >//w//<

I am so happy to know that Fairy Tail anime is continuing~ I assume it was to allow time for the manga. Anyway, here's a small list of what I have tabs on:

I was going through my nail polish collection and came across my collection of greens~!!!

This brand NYX girls is a bit on the shimmery side, however the colors are quite nice. This brand uses a lot of silver + color mix but it's not as it appears once you've painted on your nails. A single coat is a very light olive green, and since I prefer darker colors, I painted 2-3 coats.

P.S. to my Auntie Sandy, I thought you'd love this color ♥

S3.American Horror Story: Coven

A little late, I've re-watched the third season several times along with the first. It's different (first season is still the best) but the story and script is just as good. The actors and actresses definitely brought the script to life and presented their characters amazingly. I definitely love the subtle references and creative use of language. It's difficult to talk about this season without any spoilers (to those who haven't watched), although, it does retain the mysteries which slowly unfold as you continue to watch.. similarly to both previous seasons in the series.

I definitely recommend it~
The first and third seasons of American Horror Story are my personal favorite.. Probably because it deals with hauntings and magic.

Aruba Blue

It's been awhile since I last painted my nails and the newest color in my collection is Essie's Aruba Blue. It's beautiful bright color with a metallic shimmer that blue lovers would adore! A dark enough shade yet luminous to compliment the light and darker skin tone.

Snow!!

It's been a while since there's been so much snow.. well at least in comaprison to last year's winter, that was mild. This year is a bit harsher with the last freezing rain and the dragged power out days. Not to mention it's colder this year too.

My Very Cold Weekend

I didn't really expect this winter's freezing rain would have such a huge after effect on the environment, but seeing how heavy the trees bent from the ice.. it was quite an amazing sight and also terrifying. Many trees in my neighborhood snapped from that weight and worse thing was the power outage.

Up to Dates..

The poster votes are in and have been tabulated. Unfortunately my group's poster didn't win but it was a fun experience! Congrats to my friends' group that won and had a near tie! XD

School work is going decently well (I suppose) just hard to think creatively.. it's like my brain has been squeezed dry and it's running on fumes. However there will be more artwork to come! So thank you for the patience, my dear readers~ C:

S2.American Horror Story: Asylum

I've actually finished this season quite a while ago.. before the week of school started; and I have to say that it's quite good too! There's a lot dealing with "faith and religion" in this part of the series because it is set back in time where mental wards were run by the church(?) I'm not sure of my history.. but anyway, I enjoyed the story and how it was presentented. The transitions between present and current future were smooth and easy to follow. However,  there is still the slight factor that it messes with your mind while watching. If one is an attentive viewer, you'd catch a lot of the details. I, unfortunately got spoiled by my sister,  so I knew what to expect at some parts.

A Donut for Thought..

It's already been two weeks since the start of classes and I am having quite a lot more fun than expected this 4th semester. I'm sure it is still a bit too early, but I hope this pace continues.

First Day Back

It's the first day back to school. There's a lot more people in the fall semester in comparison to summer.. many lost new faces walking about the campus too. I realized that my walking pace was also much faster, I guess it's like trying to lose the freshman from following you to get around and asking directions. I know that is a bit mean of me, but personally,  I have a horrible sense of direction. So I wouldn't know how to give directions.. |||orz

- Learned new insights and "rules" about composition and the personality of the camera to aid with both illustration and film.
- Reviewed the 180º rule when it comes to composition and was elaborated too..
- The geometry of a composition and other elements used it film and and human psychology.

Interactive Illustration
- Working in Flash! I'm gonna need a lot of help with this, but I think it'll be fun!
