Vancouver Trip! Pt 6

Walk to Dinner at Minami!
One of the greatest things to do on vacation is trying new food. After our exploration at the parks, we relaxed back at the hotel before dinner time. My sister and I decided which restaurant we were going for dinner.. and decided to have something new, pressed sushi!

Funny thing, since we were using Google Maps, we thought the walk time would be accurate.. but it was a lot farther than expected, and mom was not happy (haha). A 2 km walk to dinner sure worked up the appetite to satiate our hungry stomachs.

So I'll skip the writing, and jump into yummy photos of food!

Aburi Oshi Sushi: Salmon Oshi Sushi
Aburi Oshi Sushi: Red Wave Roll
Aburi Specialty Appetizers: Black Pepper Tuna Tataki
Aburi Oshi Sushi: Saba Oshi Sushi
Entrees: Red Miso-Maple Glazed Game Hen
Entrees: Aburi Rib Eye Steak and Roasted Wild Mushrooms
The taste of the food was very good. My family's very particular when it comes to eating fish, except my sister, but I was glad to be able to handle the taste of Mackerel (saba oshi sushi). However, in comparison with our usual diet, the texture of the food was very greasy.. other than that, the food was interesting and tasty. After dinner, we had a slow walk home. On the way back, we took different paths and enjoyed our surroundings. Surprisingly, we noticed a lot of people are walking dogs.. but I guess it's not too intriguing. The climate on the West Coast is warmer, plus the downtown city is so clean.

On one of the streets closed for the fireworks display later that night, we passed by several street performers. The most interesting one was a lady hula-hooping! A few of her tricks: changing her costume while hooping and later doing Polaroid poses (like lying on top of her suitcase without dropping the hoop), hooping up hoops with only her feet, and hooping on all different parts of her body at once (neck, chest, waist, arms, knees). Unfortunately, my view wasn't good enough for photos.

Sleep time!
