Vancouver Trip! Pt 5

Lion Gate Bridge and Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
On the drive through the winding roads of Stanley Park, and missing the entrances a few times, we decided to go explore another tourist location. It was one of the spots my aunt described about a suspension bridge on the side of a cliff with glass floors.

It was quite a drive over the Lion Gate Bridge.. because apparently it was a "Highway" with directional lights hung above [arrow or cross] for which roads were open.

Snapshot out the window on the Lion Gate Bridge.

It was a short drive to one of the tourist bridges, the Capilano Suspension Bridge. However it wasn't the one that my aunt said that would be free. The tickets into the park to just walk over the suspension bridge was ridiculous.. $35 per person for a walk. We were not expecting how expensive these tourist places would be this pricey! So we researched which bridge was the free one and it was in the Lynn Canyon Park.

On arrival at Lynn Canyon location, the parking was free but completely full! There were a lot of people touring this location that even nearby streets were full of parked cars. It took us quite some patience to finally get a spot. The walk up to the bridge was surrounded by forest with a small rest stop Starbucks cafe. The actual bridge itself was also not how we expected as well.. so a slight disappointment.

The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.
The walk across short and somewhat rushed because of so many people walking at the same time that there wasn't really time to enjoy the scenery. There were also a few people (jerks) in front blasting music, shaking the bridge and shouting stupidly "how the bridge ain't gonna hold".. for the younger people, it was fun for them, but not for the adults and seniors. I managed to capture a few scenery shots of the valley below.

Creek running beneath us.
A small waterfall.

The walk back over the bridge.
The bridge is very sturdy and perfect for people who are afraid of heights (picture above). The floor is solidly plated with wooden grooves that help keep your footing as you walk. There were also hiking trails and a few people who walked in their swim wear for the waterfall. My dad, sister and I mainly came for the bridge and were a bit disappointed. So, back to cafe area for a rest stop before heading back to the hotel.

It was some good exercise and sight-seeing today.
That's all for this post~
