Nuit Blanche 2013

It was the first time I've ever attended Nuit Blanche and had a great experience. It's an interesting event where different exhibitions were displayed and interacted with in downtown Toronto. There were A LOT of people and so line-ups were certainly long, but it wasn't that bad.. However time to time, I felt a bit claustrophobic.. but the weather was decent for October. A relatively warm night with a strong cool wind.. which later brought the rain.

The large crowds of people slowly died down as the night became younger.. around 1-2am. As for my group of friends, we continued to walk to different locations to check out the different displays.. since our work shift doesn't start till 5am. Might as well enjoy ourselves! :D

And we definitely did. The best highlight of the night for me personally was the smoke house; an interactive exhibition of riding bicycles to generate energy to smoke salmon.. and let me tell you.. it was delicious! And don't like to eat fish!

There were many other displays to go to.. some we didn't get to enjoy due to the huge lines. But importantly, several displays raised awareness to our community about cancer, support for the homeless, environment, wildlife issues.. and much more in all different creative ways. And if you are not clear about the concept after looking at the display, there is a small sign next to it which provides a clear description.

*Note: Some a quite blurry since I was walking at taking the picture.. plus it was quite dark out and flash ruined the image.
